The online video revolution just got social. Social Screening™ combines the best of on-demand video, interactive TV, and the Facebook News Feed to create a unique social viewing experience for your Fans, Friends and Followers.

Social Screening™ is an application on the Facebook Platform which enables the screening of exclusive video content on a Tab on the programmers' Facebook Page. The start of the broadcast, comment feed, and polling system are launched in a synchronized fashion at a designated time for all participants to experience together. Similar to successful live events which have leveraged Facebook Connect on external web-sites, Social Screenings are a way to share a special experience with friends and other Fans from around the world. When fully integrated with Facebook Events, anticipation and buzz are built as the Social Screening date nears.

The Social Screening™ Application leverages:

  • A fully customized dynamic flash based video player that has been optimized for a synchronized viewing experience.
  • An integrated polling tool that will allow for real-time data collection throughout the event. Administrators will have the ability to create new polls based on audience response for deeper levels of engagement.

  • Integration with the Facebook comment system. Users will have the ability to comment during the broadcast and have the option to publish their comment to the News Feed. We also provide the ability for designated moderators to administer content.
  • Enterprise Video Hosting- Leveraging Akamai’s EdgePlatform with 61,000 servers deployed in 70 countries to intelligently optimize routes and replicate content for faster, more reliable delivery.

For participants, joining a Social Screening™ is an entirely new way to engage and participate with video programming and its creators. For programmers, it constitutes a new distribution channel for exclusive content, preview screenings, and any long or short form video content.
